St Pierre Church

The abbey structure has survived to our time, and was formerly surrounded by the city walls. The abbey was affected by fires and lootings, and so, in the tenth century, the bell tower was added to serve as a refuge. The current Gothic building dates from XII and XIII, stand inside their windows and archaeological remains stand ot. This is the second most important church in the city after the famous Chartres cathedral.
