St Mary's Church
The curious church of St. Mary, at the foot of the castle of the city was founded in the S. Periods XI between Anglo-Saxon and Norman, and really catches the traveler's attention for being the place where the tomb of the famous writer Anne Bronte, sister of the equally famous Emily and Charlotte, ("Agnes Grey" and "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall "are his best known novels). Anne died there while recovering by the sea and in the home of relatives. She died from tuberculosis. Although the church has great historical and cultural value, the tomb is always what catches the tourist's eye, including myself.
