St John's College Chapel

The prestigious St John's College is one of the older schools that makes up the University of Oxford. You can visit common areas (including the college chapel). but in the past it was a very closed world, students slept, prayed and ate without leaving the grounds. The chapel was built in 1535, bore the name of St John the Baptist and was consecrated 20 years later. The current building (founded by the Archbishop of Canterbury) is sixteenth century, then in 1662 a funeral chapel was built.
