St. Catherine's Church
Most traces of civilization left in the pretty village of Sayalonga are Arabic, and it shows in every step you take with its labyrinthine streets and whitewashed walls, its church and the houses of the village. The Church of Santa Catalina was built on the old mosque, a Moorish building, although reformed over time. Its exterior is quite simple: It consists of a round arch in a rectangular frame with a square tower and four arches. The interior features two naves separated by pillars and arches. There is a small chapel dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary, with an image of the Virgin of the seventeenth century belonging to the Granada School.
