St. Anne's Church
What do the Giralda in Seville and this Church have in common? The bells! One of the bells of the Church of Santa Ana was taken to Sevilla and installed in the Giralda. This Church is one of the most important architectural specimens in Alfarnate village, a beautiful village in the Axarquia. The church dates back to the XVI century and is notable for its Moorish tower and its bells. Also noteworthy is the construction of the roof, which is made from natural wood of oak beams. During the Civil War the church was ransacked and all religious images were burned. After that, it served as the headquarters for the Republican side.
