I Viaggi dei Mesupi
A seaside town
A seaside town, unknown to most tourists, but with a few treasures: an amusement park, the sea and, in particular, the longest pier in the world and some of the best fish & chips in England in the Royal Hotel, with a splendid view of the North Sea. From the station you'll pass through a long street full of shops of all kinds. At the end of the street is a beautiful view of the sea and the Adventureland park. Right here, in this intersection between the sea and the shopping area, there is the Royal Hotel, which many locals will tell you serves the best fish & chips in the country (and we agree!).
After the food stop, go down to the sea and you can walk along nearly 3 km of Southend Pier, the longest in the world. If it's too much to walk, you can take a train across it to the small museum on the other side! For 2.50, you can get a certificate with your name and date to confirm that you crossed this pier! A great place to visit, especially if you've already been to London a couple of times and are looking for something different.
