South Marina

Había bajado en varias ocasiones a Las Galletas, en el sur de mi isla de Tenerife, sin embargo nunca me había acercado a visitar con detalle la Marina. Así que decidí que ya era hora de darse un salto a conocerla. La imagen que nos regala es realmente bonita, mediterránea siendo atlántica, clara y luminosa aún en días de nubes. El entorno también favorece el encanto que irradia, ya sea por lo acogedora de la rada en la que está enclavada, como por las vistas del Teide que se disfrutan desde el espigón o por las múltiples calitas vírgenes que la rodean y a las que se puede acceder en barco o simplemente paseando por tierra en el espacio natural protegido de Punta Rasca. Otro de los encantos es el contraste de lo que sigue siendo un pueblo de pescadores con sus barcas y enseres de pesca, con los modernos veleros, fuera bordas o rápidas embarcaciones deportivas. Y todo eso en un espacio de dique de 365 metros de largo desde donde los que no navegamos podemos acercarnos para disfrutar de una preciosa vista del sur de la isla. Para completar la jornada no hay nada mejor que sentarnos y disfrutar de una estupenda comida en uno de los muchos restaurantes especializados en pescado de la zona, que también hacen sabrosas paellas y riquísima comida canaria. Y después, a media tarde, un reconfortante baño en la abrigada playa del pueblo y un atardecer de esos que son difíciles de olvidar.

To complete the day there is nothing better than to sit and enjoy a great meal at one of the many restaurants specializing in locally caught fish, they also make tasty paellas and Canarian food scrumptious. And then, in the afternoon, a refreshing dip in the sheltered town beach and a sunset of those that are hard to forget.

Uno de los pocos puertos del sur que mantiene un ambiente Canario mezclado con un toque de lo moderno. Aquí se ve los Pescadores trabajando y vendiendo su pescado en el mercado. El puerto es el centro de buceo del sur y lleno de bares y restaurantes ofreciendo un gran variedad de comidas. Un sitio perfecto para pasar una tarde o noche con un ambiente tranquilo y autentico. Cerca de Los Cristianos y Las Americas pero totalmente diferente.
