Souk El Grana

If we had not been guided by a local Tunisian we do not think we would have visited this souk, among the maze of tunnels and streets of the medina. It was Sunday afternoon (day off), so Medina was deserted, and this further souk is in a rather quiet residential area. It is located on a side street off the popular and busy Rue de la Kasbah. It is worth a walk around, because in this area the houses are typical Andalusian architecture, as it was built by them in the fifteenth century when Muslims and Spanish and Portuguese Jews were expelled from Spain (why it is nicknamed "Andalusian quarter").
