Views of the Waterfall
The Skógafoss waterfall is on the south of the island. It is about 25 meters wide and about 60 meters high and is in the middle of a cliff near Skógar. This waterfall is very close to the parking area. Legend has it that a settler named Þrasi hid a treasure chest behind the waterfall which has still not been found. You can also climb some steps alongside the waterfall and see it from above. For half of the climb you can take a small path that allows you to reach a ledge from where you have great views of the waterfall. Also we can see a troll-shaped stone.
