Skippers Canyon Road

If you love adventure and mountain biking, the Skippers Road, along the canyon of the same name, runs for about 22km and is a great place for you. The town of Charleston, within the canyon, was developed with the discovery of gold. Miners, mostly Chinese, poured into this part of New Zealand. The Skippers Road crosses several bridges while zigzagging over the river. It's a popular spot, partly because of its close proximity to Queenstown.
