Beautiful coastal city

Skikda is a beautiful coastal city in north-western Algeria, with over 150,000 inhabitants and the third largest port in the country after Algiers and Oran. The port is impressive and is always filled with gigantic boats, normally good boats. This city was founded by the French in 1838 on the ruins of the Roman city of Rusicade. There are several outstanding monuments here, the most striking is perhaps the council, a neo-morisco style palace with a luxurious style, designed by Le Corbusier. The Skikda railway station was also designed by this genius, but in my opinion, isn't quite as impressive.

The city is rich in Algerian culture and infrastructure. It was hard to get used to another culture, and what impressed me most was the big difference in terms of clothing, especially for women. When I arrived at Skikda I was used to the veils, but I couldn't stop looking at the colorful clothes they wear here. Totally different from ours and very beautiful. In the city there are numerous tea shops where you can get a thousand types of teas, there are also many food stalls, mainly carrying spices.
