Un mare dai colori pastello!
Questa bellissima e rinomata spiaggia di Cayo Largo si raggiunge in 3 modi: 1) gratuitamente da qualsiasi resort con il trenino che passa un paio di volte alla mattina e torna in albergo per pranzo e anche un paio di volte verso sera (divertente ma lentissimo). 2) in taxi, prenotandolo direttamente in albergo (al ritorno se si è in più di due persone a prenotarlo può capitare, come è successo a noi, di tornare in albergo in 7 in un solo taxi). 3) noleggiando una jeep prenotandola direttamente nel proprio albergo. Quest'ultima è la scelta migliore per vivere l'isola in modo indipendente e per raggiungere in soli 10 minuti Playa Sirena. Le condizioni delle jeep non sono ottime: i finestrini non si possono chiudere, non c'è l'aria condizionata e gli ammortizzatori è come se non esistessero! Ma questo fa parte del bello della vacanza! La jeep bisogna prenotarla il giorno prima perché le auto a noleggio a disposizione sull'isola sono davvero pochissime. Purtroppo non mi ricordo il costo di noleggio ma era una cifra fattibile che comprendeva anche il primo pieno di benzina.
L'unica strada asfaltata è quella principale che va dall'aeroporto ai resort, il resto delle strade no, quindi con le jeep si balla un po'! A Playa Sirena si trova un ristorantino dove con pochi soldi si mangia davvero bene: antipasto, aragosta con contorno, bere e caffè. Vicino al ristorante ci sono gli ombrelloni con dei lettini a pagamento ma noi abbiamo preferito allontanarci di 5 minuti per goderci la pace totale con la sola compagnia di qualche pellicano! Allontanandosi di altri 5 minuti si potranno ammirare le bellissime stelle marine giganti! A Playa Sirena come in qualsiasi altra spiaggia dell'isola è concesso il nudismo, il primo impatto con i nudisti ci ha messo a disagio, ovviamente, ma poi diciamo "che ci si abitua". Un soggiorno a Cayo Largo necessita di un repellente contro i mosquitos che sono davvero fastidiosi specialmente nell'orario del tramonto!
This beautiful and famous beach of Cayo Largo is achieved in 3 ways: 1) free from any resort by train passing a couple of times in the morning and back to the hotel for lunch and a couple of times in the evening (fun but very slow) . 2) in a taxi, booking it directly at the hotel (on return if you are more than two people to book it can happen, as it happened to us, back to the hotel at 7 in a taxi only). 3) rent a jeep Advanced booking directly to their hotel. This is the best choice to experience the island independently and to reach in 10 minutes Playa Sirena. The conditions of the jeeps are not very good: the windows can not be closed, there is no air conditioning and dampers as well not exist! But that's part of the beauty of the holiday! The jeep need to book it the day before because the rental cars available on the island are very few. Unfortunately I do not remember the cost of hiring but it was a feasible figure that included the first tank of petrol. The only paved road is the main one that goes from the resort, the rest of the roads do not, so you can dance with a little jeep '! In Playa Sirena is a restaurant where you eat with little money really well: appetizer, lobster with vegetables, and drinking coffee. Next to the restaurant there are sun loungers with parasols fee but we preferred to move away from 5 minutes to enjoy total peace with the sole company of a pelican! Away for another 5 minutes you can admire the beautiful giant starfish! In Playa Sirena like any other beach on the island is granted nudism, the first impact with the nudists put us at ease, of course, but then say, "you get used to." A stay in Cayo Largo needs a repellent against mosquitoes that are really annoying especially in the timetable of the sunset!
