Sindhi Sweets, Tienda de Dulces
In India they say that no real event is actually an event unless there's candy. Indian Sweets are there to mark the joy of the occasion, as well as classic Indian hospitality. This sweets shop is the prelude to any occasion, celebration, party, or meeting in Chandigarh. There's almost zero competition. They say it's open 24 hours a day, but I went there once at 6 a.m... and.... he he he. Sindhi Sweets opened in 1976. It was founded by CL Bajaj from Sindh province, in what is now Pakistan. The shop moved to Chandigarh post-partition opening this paradise for gourmands and a danger to everyone! There are long counters with all the variety of sweets, and tables where you can have tea and watch the constant coming and going of buyers.
