Es un templo de 1876 de estilo neo románico emplazado junto a la muralla y la entrada principal de la ciudadela.
Con diseño de Albert Brion, las obras fueron financiadas por la comunidad judía que entonces ascendía a 205 miembros.
Hay constancia de que ya en 1215, había una comunidad judía en Obernai.
It is a temple of neo Romanesque style 1876 located along the walls and the main entrance of the citadel. With Albert Brion design, the works were funded by the Jewish community which then amounted to 205 members. There is evidence that already in 1215, had a Jewish community in Obernai.
