Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao

This hotel has become Bilbao’s best and not only for the number of stars it has. The Silken chain really worked on this building, that expresses the most modern and contemporary elements, with unique details that make it really special.

The entrance to the atrium is a wonderful feeling. It opens like a great free space and it is dominated by a great sculpture of Mariscal: a Fossil Cypress made of stone that ascends to 26 meters from the ground to the skylight in the terrace. This is how the place manages to bring in natural light in the atrium space.

The interior of the bedrooms also shows an exquisite design. Each room has a personalized style that makes them different from each other, besides the comforts offered by a hotel of this class.

FANTASTIC!

My boyfriend took me there for a surprise weekend June 2008; he chose the Club bedroom and it was an unforgettable experience. It’s next to the Guggenheim Museum and the façade is beautiful. The hall is very pretty with a tall monolith that can be seen from all the halls and elevators of the hotel.

Our room was huge, with a comfortable king sized bed, with views to the museum, and a CD player. The bathroom…wow…what can I say about the bathroom? From the tub (an amazing tub designed by Philip Stark) you could see the bed and the museum; there was a blow dryer, bathrobe, slippers and everything you need, from soap to bath salts and cologne.

This hotel belongs to the Silken Hotels. It is very pretty, modern and contemporary without being cold. I only spent one night there. The rooms are quite spacious. Mine was the basic one and still it had all kinds of commodities (interactive TV, music player, big bathroom…).

They told us that each room has a detail that distinguishes it from the rest, so it’s going to be difficult to get to know the whole hotel.
