Legacy of Silk Road
Fergana is a beautiful valley in Uzbekistan, Osh road and the Chinese border. The area is "unsafe" for foreigners, as there have been conflicts here in recent years, so we almost continued without stopping, a real shame. We visited, yes, silk factories that are witness to the legacy of the Silk Road. Here silk is grown, spun, dyed and woven, which had much prestige from antiquity. The Romans were crazy for pieces of silk for their robes. Of course, we're talking about wealthy citizens, those who could afford this luxury. The silk came from the East, although most merchants did not do the tour, but products like this that were passed from hand to hand, cost a lot more.
