Greek island away from tourist frenzy
The small island of Sifnos, south of the Cyclades archipelago, is certainly the most pleasant surprise we had in Greece. Sifnos was not initially part of our travel plan in the Aegean, but the absurd combinations of ferries in Greece forced us to stop overnight. It took very little time to realize how lucky we had been to be stuck here. Sifnos is a beautiful island, with one of the most charming Cycladic white villages imaginable and churches perched on cliffs. In Sifnos they live at a leisurely pace and quietly, far away from the tourist frenzy in neighboring Santorini (just 2 hours away by ferry).
