Excellent base for exploring the Shiretoko National Park
The campsite in Yudihai (100m above Utoro) makes an excellent base for exploring the Shiretoko national park.
It is inexpensive, only 1,000 yen for two people per night.
It is 20 mins walk from the bus station and the departure point for the bear watching tour boats.
It is full of wild life. Deer come and graze near the water point, there are foxes so take care with food and rubbish and woodpeckers are busy amongst the trees in the mornings.
There is a small nature trail.
It is one of the eight scenic spots of Utoro, campers gather to enjoy the sunset in the evening.
