Simonetta Di Zanutto
A great hotel
This great monument was built between the years 1935, and 1937 by architects and Belkovsky Danchov as guests of the state of the Tsar. Today, of course, the structure has been privatized (the property of Georgi Gergov, a Bulgarian businessman), but retains its majesty and great charm. From the hotel leads an inner courtyard, where you can admire the archaeological excavations of Roman ruins and St. George Rotunda, the oldest church in Sofia. The hotel is still a good place to go to have a coffee and read the morning newspaper.
