Peace on the Road
Outside the Chinese tourism circuit, we came to a quiet town with a market, grandmothers knitting, shoemakers, little cafés, and children playing in the town square. It was enthralling to watch these people. You forget about the Chinese your neighbourhood back home who just want your money and you start to believe in their traditions, their spirits, and in the yin world that was ancient China. The town was called Shaxi, a recommendable stop on the way!
