Sedlec Ossuary

The Chapel of Bones Kostnice can be found adjacent to Sedlec cemetery in the small medieval town of Kutna Hora, which UNESCO has declared a World Heritage Site. This chapel is actually an ossuary where you will find over 40,000 human bones that were removed from the graves of the cemetery in the late 19th century because there was not enough space. All of the skulls, leg bones and other human bones have been used to decorate walls, columns, and even an impressive chandelier lamp in the center of the chapel.
