Marine Fossils in the middle of the desert

In ancient times, the Huaracanga Desert was submerged under the Pacific Ocean, and remains mostly unpopulated today. It not only lacks vegetation, but also sand, soil and mountains. In these scattered desolate areas, submarine fossils are readily found, including large mammal fossils, like whales. On the second day of our trip, we had a tour of this huge seabed area, where we saw the fossil of a whale, and spent some time looking for a shark's tooth. We didn't have any luck with the tooth, but we did find some fossils and it was very interesting to hear the explanations of what they probably were and how to identify them.
