A tribute to a famous playwright
In front of Bergen's biggest theatre, you'll find this sculpture paying tribute to the famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. The statue is notable for two things - first the height, about 3.5 m, and secondly Henrik Ibsen's face, which seems completely crazy. The work is attributed to Nils Raa, a sculptor who built it in 1981 to honour the six years that Ibsen lived and worked in the Bergen theatre that today stands behind him.
