On 23 November, 2007, the figure of Bendict XIII, "Papa Luna", moved to the castle of Peniscola. The sculpture is by artist Sergio Blanco, best known for his musical works in the groups Mocedades and Sergio y Estibaliz. The effigy, two meters tall and weighing 700 kilos, pays tribute to a character who turned Peniscola into a papal seat six centuries ago. During the Great Eastern Schism, abandoned by everyone, he moved to this fortress, where he lived until his death in 1424.
