Schwarzwälder Freilichtmuseum Vogtsbauernhof
A walk through the history and culture of the Black Forest. The Open Air Museum in Gutach Vogtsbauernhof (Schwarzwaldbahn)provides an overview of the life led by the peasants who inhabited the area between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Vogtsbauernhof consists of more than a dozen houses, spread over the hillside which are life sized and made completely of wood. They also have tools that were used until recently and typical crops. Agriculture that has been practiced over the centuries has made the Black Forest it is now: a truly unmistakable landscape. Houses are typical of the region, with sloping roofs that almost touch the ground as if they were hoods are showcased in the museum.
You can also look inside the farmhouses to see the rooms and get an idea of the life of these people. Imposing farms, mills and sawmills show the architecture and economy of this region in the past. It is very entertaining and interesting for everyone, both adults and children. Children can also see the animals here such as horses and cows. A very interesting place to visit if traveling through the area, I recommend it.
