Scheunenviertel

The real name of Scheunenviertel is the Spandau district, Spandauervorstadt. It is a neighbourhood in the former East Berlin, making a triangle between Oranienburger, Auguststrasse and Rosenthaler strasse. It is the neighbourhood whose nightlife is a bit alternative, that which we all seek when we go to Berlin, the bohemian neighbourhood with squatters houses converted into art galleries and nightclubs. The place is generally lively rather early, but it lasts until the early hours of the morning. The metro and S-Bahn services also run all night, so there is no problem in travelling about and then going back to your hostel at the end.
