Beautiful church
It was in 1356 that Saxons from Saschiz, Archita and pe Tarnave Roades attacked the Count Jacob and his family in order to recover the lands of the village, located 20 kilometres from the medieval town of Sighisoara. The Saxons cultivated the land, and were in charge of protecting the area from the Hungarian King. At that time, Saschiz was a very rich region, so a beautiful church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built, and also a fort, which has been quite destroyed, but you can walk up it in about 20 minutes to admire the view over the entire region. There is a small tourist office next to the church that will help you with everything, including lodging.
The village is split by the road to Sighisoara, but there is still an area of old, pretty medieval houses.
