Le Train de La Rhune

The town of Sara, 14km from Saint Jean de Luz, is the starting point for the train that goes to the very summit of Larrún. The climb is spectacular, and if you take in to account traveling with children a relaxing ascent is always welcome. Otherwise the ascent to Larrún is for fit people because it takes about 7 hours. This train to Larrun, the the only one left from the wide network of narrow gauge (1000mm)which existed in this area.
