Spanish fingerprint in Taiwan
After a week in the capital of Taiwan, Taipei, I visited Danshui further north and with a spectacular view of the Taiwan Strait. The most significant site is the Santo Domingo Fort, which is kept in perfect condition since the seventeenth century. It was built by the Spanish ve controlled the north of the island at that time, while the Dutch controlled the south. Later the Dutch took over the rest of the island (but we got our revenge in the World Cup final...lol). It is always interesting to be so far from home and see your flag waving in honor of the past.
