Santiago El Mayor Church
The Church of Santiago El Mayor was built in 1947, with the collaboration of all local residents through donations or helping in the construction itself. This was due to the fact that this part of town had no church, and neighbors who wanted to go to worship had to move go to the Navas church nearby. Hernandez, a local, donated 500 pesetas for its construction. As many people wanted to have their own church, they helped with the construction, working for free. Some made the mixture of lime and sand, others helped to build it. The temple opened in the 50s, being the tallest building in the Morche.
