3 reviews of Santa María de Sábada Parish Church

The Church that Looks at the Sea

Excellent

Santa Maria de Sabada Parish Church is a spectacular church in the fishing village of Lastres, is it's one of the most representative monuments in the town. 18th century, neoclassical style, it's been declared a Historic Artistic Monument. It was designed by architects Manuel Reguera, and Joaquin Vigil. It has a Latin cross plan, a single rectangular nave and two side chapels were added later, as well as 3 side porches, two facing south and one north. At the top you have a striking square bell tower with an octagonal drum. If you have the chance, don't miss taking a trip inside since that's where

One of the major works of the Baroque Asturian art is: the Christ of the Agony, which shows a lot of expressiveness.
