Evokes the hull of a boat
The Auditorium is, after the tram and the Torres de Santa Cruz, the most recent architectural acquisition of the spectacular capital. Conceived by architect Santiago Calatrava, the building evokes the hull of a boat and possesses enviable acoustic qualities. As always with innovative construction, its design had many detractors, justifying too many points in common with existing buildings, especially the Auditorium of Sydney, or little originality. It is at the entrance of Santa Cruz, near the commercial port and the Convention and Exhibition Centre. It has hosted numerous concerts and shows, and acceptance has been great (especially among connoisseurs of acoustic and classical music).
