St. Moritz
The Swiss commune of Grisones has only about 5000 inhabitants. Located within the Engadine Valley, very close to the highest peaks of the eastern Alps, such as Piz Bernina, and only a few kilometers from the city centre along the Eno River. The fantastic terrain makes Sankt Moritz one of the best known ski centres in the Swiss Alps and has hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948, and the Alpine World Ski Championships 2003. In addition, the city is a great place to go hiking, biking or just walking around, so it is a good place to visit almost any time of year. In Sankt Moritz, it is said that the sun shines no less than 300 days of the year, a record in Switzerland.
