San Sebastian Church

La Ermita de San Sebastian is in the pretty village of Alhaurin El Grande, Malaga. Its construction dates from the VX century and was built on an earlier Arabic chapel. Throughout history this church has undergone several renovations and restorations due damage from wars and other events. Inside the highlight is the dressing room with the eighteenth century image of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, with nice details and baroque plasterwork ornaments and vegetables. The images in the Easter processions of Alhaurin El Grande are from after the civil war since the originals were burned. This Church is the site of one of the oldest Alhaurin fraternities, popularly known as "the moraos".
