A trip through time

The Ile Saint Louis is the 2nd largest island in the Seine, Paris. The medieval capital was concentrated here and the island was saved by the work of Baron Haussmann, in the ninth century. It is my favorite place to wander around at night, when the silhouettes of the buildings look fantastic and it's like taking a trip through time.

Peace & quiet in downtown paris

When you cross the bridge from La Cite, you arrive at Île Saint-Louis. It's like entering another world completely apart from the bustle of Notre Dame and its surroundings. You can spend some time exploring the quiet streets where the only sound is that of your footsteps. The only blip in the tranquility is the popular Bertillion ice cream shop, which is worth a visit.

If you're in Paris, don't hesitate to visit the Île Saint-Louis. It's a visit that'll really help recharge your batteries. If I were rich (and I mean really rich) enough to live in Paris, the Île Saint-Louis would be the perfect place!

La Isla Saint Louis es la menor de las...

La Isla Saint Louis es la menor de las dos islas que están en el río Sena, que cruza París, siendo la otra isla la de la Cite. Fue creada artificialmente como tal en el siglo XVI gracias al entusiasmo de Luis XII. Se puede llegar a ella por medio de seis puentes que la unen a tierra firme o en pequeños botes que atracan a cualquiera de sus cuatro muelles. Es una isla pequeña y tiene solamente 8 calles. Da gusto caminar por su calle principal que la atraviesa de punta a punta. Allí encontrarás infinidad de negocios y pequeños cafecitos. No dejes de hacer un stop en la famosa Heladería Berthillon..... Adonde degustarás los helados más ricos de todo París, mientras caminas hacia una de sus salidas que da al Pont de Sully. Es un lindísimo paseo y te repondras para seguir conociendo la Ciudad Luz.

The Ile Saint Louis is the smaller of the two islands in the Seine, Paris Crossing, the other being that of the Cite island. It was artificially created as such in the sixteenth century by the enthusiasm of Louis XII. You can reach her via six bridges that link the mainland or in small boats that dock at any of its four piers. It is a small island and is only 8 blocks. It's nice to walk along the main street that runs through it from end to end. There you will find countless businesses and small cafes. Be sure to make a stop at the famous Berthillon Ice Cream ..... Where ice cream will taste richer around Paris, as you walk into one of their outlets overlooking the Pont de Sully. It is a very pretty walk and repondras you to continue hearing the City of Light.

L'île st. Louis est un des endroits les plus chics pour habiter sur Paris. Avec ses belles constructions et ses magasins de luxe on ne peut pas s'empêcher d'aller faire un petit tour là-bas. Proche de cette ile se trouve l'église de notre dame, aussi plusieurs restaurants, cafés, etc. Sans oublier que le week-end on peut toujours trouver des gens en train de faire des spectacles dans la rue.C'est très sympa et beau, c'est sans doute un de mes quartiers préférés pour faire de la promenade un dimanche matin.

En 1985, Cristo nous avait emballé le pont Neuf, aujourd'hui et jusqu'au 2 novembre 2009, JR couvre les ponts et les quais de l'île Saint-Louis à Paris de son expo "Women Are Heroes". Ces photos, prises par JR dans dix pays des cinq continents sont censées souligner le rôle central des femmes dans la société. L'idée était plutôt bonne, la réalité se révèle un peu décevante, à moins de trouver le bon angle pour voir l'expo. Dommage !

L’ile Saint Louis, entre deux bras de la Seine, est proche de l’ile de la cité. C’est l’un des plus ancien quartier de Paris et l’ambiance s’y dégage est particulier. Entre de splendides hôtels particuliers anciens, on déniche des restaurant savoureux et cotés, des galeries d’arts et des boutiques artisanales. Cette atmosphère romantique appelle à la promenade sur les quais au crépuscule.

L'ile Saint Louis, between two arms of the Seine, is close to the island of the city. This is one of the oldest district of Paris and the atmosphere emerges there is particular. Pasando el Pont Neuf se llega a la isla de Sant Louis...Presciosa...Una calle en particular llena de adoquines a distintos niveles y bares, banderitas de colores .....Preciosa, única...La gente encantadora...El mejor lugar para cenar...Un restaurante pequeño. Que era un antiguo molino según nos contó el camarero....Tiene un sótano donde también atienden. Con una escalera pequeña y empinada llena de velas....El sitio es genial después de un día ajetreado por las calles de París...Descanso, bien atendido, buena comida, buen vino...Buenos postres!!!. El camarero que nos atendió había aprendido español viendo películas de Almodovar....Muy agradables todos. Tengo que volver algún día....No os lo perdáis si vais por París.

Cet endroit est le lieu de la Capitale où se trouve concentrée sa partie médiévale, l'île ayant été épargnée par les travaux du baron Haussman, au dix-neuvième siècle. Cet endroit est mon itinéraire préféré pour les balades nocturnes, quand les silhouettes des bâtiments prennent un air fantastique et donnent l'impression d'un voyage dans le temps...

L'île saint Louis anciennement l'île aux vaches, est une île moins touristique que l'île de la cité (si on peut dire ça). On y trouve plus de restaurant dont les fameuses glaces Bertillons. Et d'autre pâtisseries.
