The oldest church in Valencia
While walking along the streets of Valencia’s old town one can still find almost hidden places. It is the case of San Juan Hospital, a spot that may go unnoticed from the outside; because the front is no big deal and other nearby buildings distract you.
Fortunately, as we walked aimlessly without any fixed direction in what was one of my first forays into the old part of Valencia, an open door aroused my curiosity. We went in, and what seemed to be access to a vicinal court became a wonderful discovery.
The complex that houses the oldest church in Valencia is a must for visitors. Beautiful, very beautiful. A beautiful museum, a richly adorned church, and patio access that can sometimes resemble a small cloister, it causes one to step back in time, where the Templar crosses and the Knights of the hospitable order welcome us.
