San Francesco Church

La Chiesa è dedicata a San Francesco di Assisi. Non si ha una datazione esatta sulla sua costruzione ma si pensa che sia stata realizzata tra il XIII° e il XIV° secolo. L'ingresso è a navata unica, molto spoglio al suo interno. Il Bellissimo portale esterno è tra i più visitati, realizzato in pietra locale il cui triplice archivolto intagliato a realizzare delicati fregi e motivi geometrici che richiamano il periodo arabo-normanno e l'età sveva. Inoltre al suo esterno possiamo ammirare lo splendido campanile in blocchi di pietra dove si nota un intervento più moderno rispetto all'epoca della costruzione della Chiesa e del portale.

The church is dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. You do not have an exact date on its construction but it is thought to have been built between the thirteenth and fourteenth century. The entrance has a single nave, very bare inside. The Beautiful external portal is among the most visited, made of local stone whose triple archway carved to create delicate friezes and geometric patterns that recall the period of Arab-Norman and Swabian. In addition to its exterior we can admire the beautiful bell tower of stone blocks where we see a more modern than intervention during the construction of the Church and of the portal.
