Catholic church

It is in the royal square in front of the statue of Godfrey of Bouillon. It is a replica of the Roman style of the nineteenth century neoclassical style, built from 1776-1787. The facade has six Corinthian columns. Although it has had various roles throughout history (in time of the French Revolution was the Palace of Laws) has now returned to work as a Catholic church. From the twelfth century there was a chapel here was replaced by another use of the Dukes of Brabant. He became ducal chapel when Coudenberg palace was built in the thirteenth century. The chapel was sacked in 1579 during the conflict between Catholics and Protestants and the 1731 fire that destroyed the palace was badly damaged and had to be demolished. The present church was raised respecting the prevailing neoclassical style in the area. A Capitol Christian

Un campidoglio cristiano

Excellent
Arriving at the Place Royale is impossible not to notice this kind of "capitol" that fills the view. Saint Jacques-sur-Coudenberg not look like a church, as a presidential palace. And in fact also served as a Temple of Reason and then Temple of Law during the French Revolution, returning Catholic in 1802. It was built between 1776 and 1787 in neo-classical style on the ruins of a medieval abbey. A beautiful view can be enjoyed from the terrace of the Museum of Musical Instruments.
