Cathedral of Saint Bertrand de Comminges

6 reviews of Cathedral of Saint Bertrand de Comminges

Tiny village on a hill

Saint Bertrand de Comminges is a tiny village on a hill in Midi-Pyrenees, in the French Pyrenees. The Romanesque cathedral is the town's main attraction with its Gothic nave, pretty cloister and very nice views. Its wooden tower can be seen from afar and provides access to the village, which is a little isolated. The village comes to life in summer when it's tourist season, but throughout the year, masses are celebrated in the church as well as organ concerts. During July and August, a festival takes place in the region of Comminges, giving classical concerts at the Cathedral of Saint Bertrand
