A place where you are far from your comfort zone
The Sahel is a semi-arid ara of land separating the African savannah from the Great Desert, the Sahara. A strip that runs from west to east, across the African continent, to South of Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Algeria, northern Guinea and Burkina Faso, Niger, northern Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Sudan and Eritrea. I walked through it a bit, in Burkina Faso and Mali, and hopefully I can go to Cameroon this summer... The Sahel is a wild land, rough, hot, where you can have problems breathing and getting dehydrated .... We went in the rainy season, and there was even had lots of vegetation! I can not even imagine what it is to live through a drought in this place.
