Safari by Canoe in Los Llanos

Much of the ecosystem of Los Llanos is primarily water. In the rainy season most of the plain is flooded, but even in the dry season there are lots of rivers. For this reason a visit by motor canoe on the river is almost obligatory. In a canoe you cone into contact with a huge variety of wildlife. Herons, ibis and other wading birds live alongside turtles, alligators and piranhas. And also anacondas (but more about them later). Our guide, Victor, is surely one of the foremost experts on the wildlife of Los Llanos that you can find (apart from him being one of the nicest people I've ever met, and always smiling).
