Red wilderness
This part of Italy is known for its large basalt rocks covered in red lichen whose distinctive color gives name to the town. Here, near Sa Corona Arrubia, you’ll find a natural history museum that’ll give you plenty of insight into Sardinia. The museum is divided into different areas (flora, fauna, geology, and mankind) and makes for a really complete experience. Also, the area around the museum is gorgeous and there are some wonderful views.
