Ryokan Matsumae
Sleeping at the Ryokan Matsumae was a great success. On a trip to Japan we spent the night in Nara, an essential stop on the tour. I remember this ryokan as a special place where we felt at home. While not luxurious, its exquisite and typically Japanese architecture is a plus point. In it we find what is expected of a traditional Japanese ryokan ... and more: mat on the floor, futon, great order, spotlessly clean and a typical bathrobe welcoming you. The first thing we did: put it on!. And second, taste the green tea and cookies, also courtesy of the house. Finally, add that Matsumae has a very good location, only 8min walk from the train station.
In short, although we generally loved all the accommodation which we encountered along the way, I keep a spcial memoery of this place, for there was something in its atmosphere, something which I cannot explain, transmitting real peace. Certainly, if I go to Japan again(which I hope to do), I will repeat. Highly recommended.
