GERARD DECQ
Mythical road in American culture
Legendary Route 66! More than three thousand miles crossing east to west from Chicago to the coast, this road is almost mythical in American culture. When the interstate roads were established in 1954, the road became less used, but it has been re-designated as a "historic route" in several states. Now it relies mostly on tourism, and as you travel you'll see old motels and classic car museums.
