The Royal Museum and Art Gallery houses a collection of works by local artist Thomas Sidney Cooper and offers many temporary exhibitions. It also houses the Buffs Museum which is an offshoot of the National Army Museum. It is currently closed to the public due to renovations but is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2011. In any case, the imposing 19th century building is worth a glance.
