1 review of Royal Liver Building

A historical monument

Opposite the mouth of the Mersey River in the historic district of the city docks of Liverpool, this listed building is a historical monument, and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to Liverpool's importance in the history of the merchant navy. The building is immediately recognizable in the city's skyline, with its two towers topped by statues of the "Liver Bird", a mythical bird, half eagle and half cormorant, that is the symbol of Liverpool.
