Every 4 years, in November, more than 200,000 people flock to the coast of Saint-Malo to wave their handkerchiefs to the crews of the skippers ve dare to challenge the ocean alone. The Route du Rhum is an adventure of modern times, an extreme solo competition, non-stop against an untamed ocean. The Route du Rhum is mythical: 3510 miles in one go from Saint-Malo to Pointe à Pitre. Although it's mainly men, women are not far behind.
