Toledo in Roman Times
Known since the year 1986, the archeological remains preserved in this place illustrate how monumental Toledo must have been in Roman times: designed and equipped following the urban model of the time and copied from the empire’s capital, Rome.
There was a sort of sauna or hot room, with underground heating, present in all thermal constructions of the era. The dimensions, careful planning of its construction, as well as the materials used for decoration (marble, statues) tell us that it was a public building. Free entrance.
