Delicious American-style brunch!!!
My mouth is still watering thinking about Roll Madrid, a newish American-owned eatery in the up-and-coming Conde Duque neighborhood (closest metro: Noviciado or Plaza de España). The restaurant itself is light, airy, and modern and has a great soundtrack. Decor aside, the real treat here is the food. The menu features a variety of updated American classics and (gasp!) Brooklyn Brewery beer imported from NYC.
I went for brunch and was really, really surprised. Brunch consists of a starter, entree, coffee, and juice with the option of a cocktail for only 3 euros more. We ordered bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon and some of the best French toast I've had in a while as starters, and a juicy bacon cheeseburger (made with free-range beef from the owner's own cows) and absolutely scrumptious Eggs Benedict served with a refreshingly light Hollandaise and hashbrowns. We washed it down with mimosas and one of the most masterfully-prepared Bloody Marys I've found in Madrid.
