River Aar

Bern's historic area is bounded by the River Aar, which forms a beautiful meander, especially when viewed from the top of the Rose Garden. The river's bright green, almost turquoise, colour stands out most of all which matches the city's interior walls. In summer, on a sunny day, the locals swim in this river to cool off, playing, even letting the current take them when it's strong from the melting snow. It's certainly a great picture from the viewpoint on top of the Cathedral.
